The Mermaid Poem by William Butler Yeats
A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown. Writer – The Supernatural Hippie

I’m a big fan of Yeats’ poetry but I didn’t know he had written a poem about a mermaid.

Statements with an image is not poetry. Yeats’ does not have works as a poet. The mermaid is merely a statement or quote.💦
